Data protection is playing an increasingly important role for companies. The regulations have become even more complex with the introduction of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation. In many places, you still hear that no data is processed and therefore no problems arise. However, the GDPR puts an end to this view: even the receipt of an email is the processing of personal data.
Data protection is playing an increasingly important role for companies. The regulations have become even more complex with the introduction of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In many places, you still hear that no data is processed and therefore no problems arise. However, the GDPR puts an end to this view: even the receipt of an email is the processing of personal data.
Companies must now appoint a data protection officer who ensures compliance. A data protection officer also advises management and other responsible persons in a preventive manner in order to avoid errors in data processing. It must be clarified when the consent of the data owner is required for processing and what security precautions must be taken. An access system must also be developed for each company to give employees access only to the data they use to perform their tasks.
